Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is offering a Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician Apprentice role at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading. You will rotate through the dispensary, stores, medicines information, medicines safety, wards and accuracy checking, while undertaking the Pre-Registration qualification starting February 2027.

The apprenticeship runs over 24 months with rotations on mental health and community health wards, late duty rota, with ongoing development, training, and

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs or equivalent with Maths, English and two Science qualifications.
• Clear written and spoken English, and communication skills.
• Ability to use own initiative and demonstrate self-confidence and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through the department on a two-year timetable: dispensary, pharmacy stores, medicines information, medicines safety, wards and accuracy checking.
• Participate in late duty rota with hours 10-6pm.
• Attend departmental training sessions and contribute to learning objectives; engage in regular 1:1 meetings with line manager and tutors/assessors.
