Job summary

Recruit4staff are representing a leading print and packaging manufacturing business in their search for a Pre-Press Operative to work in Bourne. The role requires processing customer artwork, preparing files for plate output and ensuring printing plates meet quality standards before production.

You will work closely with production teams in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including administrative duties, housekeeping and undertaking additional training related to plate making.

Qualifications

• Experience in lithographic printing or the wider print industry.
• Strong colour vision and an eye for colour accuracy.
• Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
• Minimum GCSE passes in English and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Process customer artwork and prepare files for plate output.
• Ensure printing plates meet quality standards before production.
• Work with production teams to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform administrative duties and keep work areas clean.
• Undertake plate making training as required.

Job Role

As a Pre-Press Operative, you will be responsible for processing customer-supplied artwork, preparing files for plate output, and ensuring printing plates meet quality standards before production. The Pre-Press Operative will work closely with production teams to maintain accuracy and efficiency throughout the printing process. This Pre-Press Operative position also involves administrative duties, housekeeping responsibilities, and undertaking additional training associated with plate making. The successful Pre-Press Operative will play an important role in maintaining high-quality standards within a fast-paced print environment.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• Experience in lithographic printing and/or the print industry
• Excellent colour vision
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
• Minimum GCSE passes in English and Mathematics
• Ability to work effectively as a Pre-Press Operative within a manufacturing environment

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• Modern Apprenticeship, City & Guilds or BTEC qualification in Graphics, Packaging or Printing
• Previous experience as a Pre-Press Operative within the print or packaging industry
• Experience of plate making and pre-press processes
