About CTS Group

CTS Group is a leading international design and build contractor specialising in the delivery of mission-critical data centre facilities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). We combine engineering excellence, digital innovation, and advanced manufacturing techniques to deliver high-performance, sustainable, and future-ready infrastructure for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise clients.

With a diverse workforce representing more than 40 nationalities, CTS fosters a collaborative and high-performance culture where innovation, quality, and technical excellence underpin every project. As part of our commitment to modern methods of construction, CTS continues to expand its offsite manufacturing and prefabrication capabilities, helping clients realise faster project delivery, improved quality, enhanced safety, and greater programme certainty.

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Pre-Fabrication Detailing Lead to join our London-based Engineering and Prefabrication team.

The Role

The Pre-Fabrication Detailing Lead is responsible for leading the production of detailed manufacturing models and fabrication drawings for CTS's offsite modular and prefabricated solutions, supporting some of the most advanced data centre projects in Europe.

Working closely with Design Managers, Engineering teams, Manufacturing, Project Delivery, and specialist supply chain partners, you will ensure that all prefabricated assets are fully coordinated, manufacturable, installable, and aligned with project requirements.

This is a key leadership role within the prefabrication function, focused on driving quality, efficiency, innovation, and standardisation across CTS's expanding portfolio of modular construction solutions, including pump skids, combined distribution modules, multi-storey risers, pipework assemblies, and other mission-critical infrastructure components.

Key Responsibilities
Prefabrication Design & Technical Delivery
  • Lead the development of detailed 3D fabrication models and manufacturing drawings for offsite prefabricated systems and modular assets.

  • Produce fabrication-ready designs for pump skids, mechanical pipework modules, multi-service risers, plant room assemblies, and combined distribution modules.

  • Generate piping isometrics from P&IDs and project specifications.

  • Develop efficient layouts that optimise manufacturing, transportation, installation, maintenance, and operational performance.

  • Ensure all designs satisfy project, manufacturing, logistics, and installation requirements.

BIM & Digital Engineering
  • Create and maintain highly detailed BIM models using industry-leading design and fabrication software.

  • Issue coordinated fabrication models to project teams for incorporation into federated project models.

  • Manage and maintain the prefabrication content library and standard manufacturing components.

  • Coordinate closely with BIM and Design teams to ensure seamless integration between design and fabrication deliverables.

  • Support digital engineering initiatives and continuous improvements in modelling workflows.

Standardisation & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and maintain CTS prefabrication standards, templates, methodologies, and Standard Methods & Procedures (SMPs).

  • Drive standardisation across prefabricated products and manufacturing processes.

  • Review existing designs and identify opportunities to increase offsite manufacturing, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise site installation activities.

  • Capture lessons learned from manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning activities and integrate improvements into future designs.

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of detailers and fabrication designers.

  • Allocate resources and manage workloads to ensure project deliverables are achieved in line with programme requirements.

  • Coordinate with external detailing partners and specialist consultants where additional resources are required.

  • Monitor productivity, utilisation, and performance across the detailing function.

  • Promote a culture of quality, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Programme & Project Coordination
  • Develop and maintain prefabrication schedules in collaboration with the Prefabrication Manager and project delivery teams.

  • Monitor progress against programme milestones and identify potential risks, delays, and resource constraints.

  • Produce regular progress reports highlighting status, risks, and mitigation strategies.

  • Support project planning and production sequencing activities through detailed look-ahead programmes.

  • Coordinate delivery schedules to align with project construction programmes and installation requirements.

Quality Assurance & Stakeholder Management
  • Review manufacturing drawings to ensure compliance with engineering standards, client requirements, and CTS quality expectations.

  • Coordinate technical queries and design clarifications through the RFI process.

  • Liaise with structural engineers, consultants, suppliers, and project teams to secure approvals and resolve technical issues.

  • Support quality inspections, factory acceptance checks, snagging activities, and delivery inspections.

  • Ensure all engineering documentation is accurately maintained and controlled throughout the project lifecycle.

About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
