Job summary

Wates is offering a Pre-Construction Management Trainee programme in Birmingham. You will gain hands-on exposure to early project lifecycle activities, supporting bid development, client brief interpretation and solution framing across Estimating, Commercial, Design and Operations.

You will learn bid strategies, develop content for submissions, and coordinate input from multiple teams to ensure compliant, timely bids.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) by September 2027.
• Two A-Levels at grade D or above (or equivalent) by September 2027.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Pre-Construction team in preparing bids, proposals and tender submissions for new project opportunities.
• Assist in identifying client requirements and develop effective bid strategies and solutions.
• Produce customer-focused content for bid submissions tailored to each client and opportunity.
• Coordinate input from teams across the business to ensure bid submissions are accurate, compliant and on time.
• Create and maintain responsibility matrices, action trackers and programme schedules for bid activities.
• Maintain document control systems with case studies, project information and supporting documentation.
