Job summary

Hill & Hill Recruitment is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead the pre-construction process in London. You will coordinate with estimating, commercial, design and delivery teams to develop competitive tender submissions and viable cost proposals.

The role emphasizes client liaison, risk management and effective handover to delivery teams. The successful candidate will manage multiple tenders, interpret complex drawings and specs, and drive value engineering and robust design

Qualifications

• Experience as Pre-Construction Manager or similar in construction.
• Strong understanding of builders works, refurbishment, fit-out or main contracting.
• Experience managing complex tender and pre-construction processes.
• Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of construction methodologies.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the pre-construction process from enquiry through to contract award.
• Review tender documents, specs, drawings and client requirements.
• Coordinate tender programmes and meet submission deadlines.
• Work with estimators to develop cost proposals.
• Lead design coordination during pre-construction and identify technical solutions.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, architects and supply chain partners.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Manage subcontractor engagement and review technical submissions.
• Prepare and deliver tender presentations and client meetings.
• Support contract negotiations and handover to delivery teams.
• Develop strong relationships with clients for repeat business.
