Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to lead early-stage delivery on a large framework of educational projects in London and the Southeast. Projects typically range from £10m to £70m, requiring top-tier or mid-tier contractor experience, a process-driven approach, and strong bid and programme management.

You will coordinate design teams, manage tender submissions, advise on cost and design inputs, and lead stakeholder meetings to ensure smooth pre-construction progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in pre-construction roles with top/mid-tier main contractors.
• Proven ability to manage bids, tenders, and estimation.
• Experience delivering £10m–£70m schemes in London or SE.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction programming through the build cycle and understand sequence and techniques.
• Lead project bidding, tender strategies, and coordinate bid writers.
• Manage tender submissions and estimation.
• Programme control and coordination of trades, adapting as required.
• Add cost and design input to the delivery process and end product.
• Coordinate all design and project consultants.
• Manage and chair meetings with client and stakeholders.

Our Client is a Top Tier Contractor whom are looking for Pre Construction Manager to help deliver the first of a large framework of construction based educational projects. Project typically £10 million to £70 million in London and Southeast.

The ideal candidate will already be working in a similar construction role and have Top Tier or Mid tier- main contractor Project experience.

As Pre Construction Manager you will have strong process driven experience, and take responsibility for:

• Managing the construction programming through the cycle of the build and be able to understand the construction sequence and techniques employed.
• Lead project bidding, tender strategies, co ordination bid writers.
• Managing Tender Submissions and Estimation
• Programme control and the co-ordination of trades and the ability to adapt this where required.
• Add cost and design input on the delivery process and end product
• Co-Ordination all design and project consultants
• Managing and chairing meetings with client and stakeholders
