Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for education and warehousing/industrial projects. You'll estimate, budget, plan and coordinate early-stage development, with site visits and client liaison as required.

This permanent role offers in-office work with potential remote elements in the future, and a strong focus on accurate take-offs, cost control and collaboration with sub-contractors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a construction estimator within the commercial construction sector.
• HNC/HND in construction and the built environment or equivalent.
• CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Analysing and interpretation of project information.
• Preparation of estimates and bid proposals on commercial construction projects for work values up to £3m.
• Accurately calculating take-offs from drawings including labour and materials.
• Understanding planning and sequencing of construction of projects.
• Communication with clients to clarify unclear specifications/wording through RFIs.
• Coordination with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing used for bid submission.
• Participation in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-over and project close-out meetings as needed.
• Use of in-house pricing and quoting system to deliver accurate estimates.
• Undertaking site surveys and attending site visits as and when required.
• Support the business unit led and report back weekly.

Pre Construction Manager - IND1

TXM Recruit are working with a specialist commercial building services provider delivering refurbishment, fit‑out, electrical, mechanical and facilities solutions for industrial, warehouse, retail and commercial environments with the onboarding of a new Pre‑Construction Manager.

This role requires an experienced and detail‑oriented Pre‑Construction Manager to lead and coordinate all aspects of the preconstruction phase, including estimating, budgeting, planning, and early‑stage project development. The work will be on Education and Warehousing/Industrial projects.

Salary: Up to £50,000

Location: Bedford Office; 5 days in office or site visits, 8am to5pm. Remote working may be implemented in the next year. Flexibility for childcare or personal.
