Job summary

TSR Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Pre Construction Manager / Bid Writer for a main contractor in South Yorkshire. You will own the tender process from brief to submission, coordinating with estimators and operations to ensure compliant, high-quality bids that win work.

The role requires strong written communication, experience preparing tenders for main contractors across commercial and public sector projects, and the ability to manage online portals and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Bid Writer / Tender Coordinator role within construction.
• Experience preparing tenders for a main contractor across commercial/public sectors.
• Strong written communication to produce professional submissions.
• Familiarity with online tender portals and strict deadlines.
• Understanding of construction methodology, site logistics and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end tender process from review to final submission.
• Review tender docs, drawings and employer's requirements for key deliverables.
• Prepare high-quality responses tailored to client criteria and evaluation.
• Manage online tender portals and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
• Coordinate pre-tender/site surveys to inform responses.
• Work with estimators to align submissions with pricing and scope.
• Develop methodology statements, logistics plans and phasing proposals.
• Coordinate with operations on site management, access and deliveries.
• Assemble project case studies, CVs, health & safety docs and QA evidence.
• Consolidate information from project teams to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
• Maintain a library of tender content and supporting evidence.
• Undertake final quality checks to ensure completeness and compliance.
