Job summary

Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our pre-assessment team. You will perform pre-operative nursing and medical assessments to ensure patients are prepared for their procedures and liaise with anaesthetists and surgeons.

The role requires independent workload management within a team, planning clinics, and upholding the NMC Code. Experience in pre-assessment is desirable but not essential; support to develop competence is provided.

Qualifications

• Post-registration work experience in an acute setting is essential.
• Pre-assessment experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and organise your own workload within a wider team.
• Assist in planning the pre-assessment clinics.
• Work under indirect supervision of a senior nurse.
• Ensure implementation of workplace policies and procedures.
• Research and undertake audit relevant to pre-assessment.
• Provide clinical advice and support to staff and patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic, high quality care.
• Maintain a safe working environment and effective communication.
