Job summary

Bath College is launching a new Alternative Provision to support 14-16 year olds who may need an alternative to their current education. The Learning Support and Partnership Lead role combines direct learner support with SEND coordination, across five afternoon AP sessions weekly, and time for coordinating support with parents, schools and external professionals.

The postholder will work closely with SEND and safeguarding teams to ensure every learner has the right support, enabling engagement,

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting young people with SEND and/or additional needs.
• Understanding that learners in Alternative Provision may have had varied experiences of education.
• Able to build effective relationships with learners, parents/carers and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct learner support across five afternoon AP sessions each week.
• Coordinate information relating to SEND and additional needs.
• Act as a key contact for parents, schools, commissioners and professionals.
• Contribute to learner reviews, transition and progression planning.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and progression to ensure suitable support.
