Introduction

Are you an experienced Psychologist looking to take the next step in your career? Join Ballington House in Leek, a mental health rehabilitation service for women. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact and support some of the most vulnerable individuals in society.

You will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working, and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and may be asked to design and deliver training. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Regional Consultant Psychologist, and the post is supported by an assistant psychologist.

As a Psychologist, you will have experience managing a service user’s caseload, including assessing complex needs and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support care plans.

As a psychologist, you will be:

• Participating in pre-admission assessments for initial evaluation of referred service users.
• Providing high-quality assessment and therapeutic interventions, making autonomous clinical decisions.
• Working therapeutically with complex cases, using methods such as psychometrics and interviews.
• Formulating and implementing psychological treatment plans based on multifactorial formulations and evidence-based practices.
• Being professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of your clinical work.
• Maintaining high standards of care in accordance with HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and company policies.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A BPS-recognized psychology degree.
• HCPC registration.
• Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice.
• Experience applying psychological knowledge in similar settings.
• Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits.

Where you will be working:

Location: Ballington Gardens, Leek, Staffordshire ST13 5LW

You will work at Ballington House, a 13-bed mental health rehabilitation hospital for women with complex mental health needs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support women with complex conditions.
