Job summary

Ashworth Street Surgery is seeking an experienced Practice Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with GP partners and the wider team to deliver high-quality patient care. You will coordinate staffing, IT systems and governance, while driving improvements across operations.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, plus a track record in managing complex priorities in a busy primary care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a management or supervisory role coordinating people, processes or services.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience managing staff rota coordination and staffing cover.
• Experience in primary care or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of NHS contracts, CQC requirements and governance processes.
• Experience using IT systems and producing reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operational running of the practice and implement objectives.
• Coordinate staff rotas, recruitment, induction and development.
• Improve patient access, appointment processes and service coordination.
• Ensure NHS contractual obligations and performance targets are met.
• Support governance, compliance, risk management and health and safety.
• Manage premises, facilities and health and safety.
• Coordinate IT, digital systems and information governance.
• Drive service development and continuous improvement.
