Job description

Job Title: Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a friendly, professional Nursing Assistant to work under the supervision of a qualified nurse, assisting in the implementation of both direct and non-direct patient care.

Location and Organization

The position is with Northumbria Primary Care (NPC) North Tyneside, part of NPC North Tyneside Neighbourhood, primarily based at NPC Nelson. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care to NPC patients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist qualified nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care, both direct and indirect.
2. Support patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
3. Maintain high clinical standards and a clean, safe environment.
4. Assist in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
5. Report changes in patient condition and observations accurately.
6. Promote health within the practice setting.
7. Prepare clinical areas for procedures.
8. Provide delegated clinical care such as conducting ECGs, performing phlebotomy, dressing non-complex wounds, and conducting some scans/investigations as per protocols.
9. Participate in annual reviews and vaccinations.

Organization Details

Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs managing several practices with around 50,000 registered patients across Northumberland and North Tyneside. Appointees may work at different practices within our group, with efforts made to limit this to ensure continuity of care. NPC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
