Job Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic Community Staff Nurses to join our District Nursing Service in North Tyneside, initially based at Wallsend Health Centre, covering maternity leave. This role involves providing patient-centered care in various settings, supporting professional growth, and maintaining high standards of practice.

Main Duties

Community nurses work independently and as part of a team, assessing, planning, and evaluating care for diverse patient groups. Responsibilities include wound management, palliative care, diagnostic testing, and patient education. Maintaining professional standards and exercising accountability are essential.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • State Registration (Part 1 of NMC)
  • Additional clinical qualifications or equivalent
  • Preceptorship program for newly qualified nurses
  • Evidence of supervising, teaching, or assessing students (to be completed within 18 months)
Other Requirements
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle or a Trust lease vehicle
Experience and Knowledge
  • Experience working independently in healthcare
  • Knowledge of or experience with coaching, mentoring, and quality improvement tools
