Job summary

Knebworth & Marymead Medical Practice is seeking a Practice Nurse to work across its two sites and support the nursing team. The role focuses on immunisations, cervical screening, contraception, wound care, travel health and chronic disease work for a patient list of around 13,000.

Three days a week, including Wednesdays and Fridays, with up to 30 hours possible. Registration with the NMC is required, and prior general practice experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
• Experience in primary care as a Practice Nurse.
• Experience in cervical screening, contraception, wound care and immunisations.
• Understanding of QOF and clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver vaccination programmes across all age groups.
• Manage and support patients with long-term conditions.
• Undertake cervical screening and support well woman services.
• Provide contraception services including pill checks and injections.
• Deliver wound care including dressings and minor procedures.
• Offer travel health advice and vaccinations.
• Conduct NHS Health Checks and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate clinical records on SystmOne.
