Job summary

Plowright Medical Centre in Swaffham is seeking a practice nurse to work 25–30 hours per week, supporting a stable patient population in a busy community. The role offers flexible hours with protected admin time in an award-winning facility.

You will undertake health assessments, manage long-term conditions, administer vaccines, perform phlebotomy and ECG, and provide patient-centred care across a wide range of clinical tasks. NHS pension, generous leave, and free on-site parking are available.

Qualifications

• A relevant nursing degree.
• Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
• Experience in general practice or equivalent.
• Competence to undertake long-term condition reviews (asthma/COPD) with relevant certificates.
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, ECG, vaccinations, cervical cytology sampling, wound care and minor surgery assistance.
• Compassionate, patient-centred approach with dignity for patients, relatives and staff.
• Knowledge of current NHS nursing issues and practice.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments, and performing diagnostic tests.
• Providing and evaluating health interventions to meet patients' health and social care needs.
• Managing long-term conditions in line with policies and practice protocols.
• Reviewing medications for therapeutic effectiveness and supporting adherence.
• Prioritising health problems and intervening in urgent or emergency situations.
• Supporting health needs of women for sexual health, contraception and cervical cytology.
• Implementing vaccination and immunisation programmes for adults and children.
• New patient health checks and opportunistic wound care.
• Running hypertension, asthma, COPD and diabetes clinics.
