Job summary

Gleniffer Medical Group in Barrhead is seeking a motivated Practice Nurse to join its friendly and supportive team within Barrhead Health & Care Centre. The role involves general nursing duties and conducting reviews for long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension, with options for more hours.

You will be NMC registered, with cervical screening certification preferred; independent prescribing is desirable.

Gleniffer Medical Practice in Barrhead is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join its friendly & supportive team.

Our team consists of 6 GP partners, 1 locum GP, 1 ANP, 1 NP, 1 GPN,1 HCSW, Practice Manager and administrative team. We also have support from HSCP which includes pharmacists, advanced physiotherapist and community link worker. We also have the services of a community treatment room and phlebotomy services within the health centre. The practice population is 9500.

The successful candidate should be NMC registered. Previous practice nurse experience is desired and the candidate should be able to provide general nursing duties as well as carry out reviews for long term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, COPD, CHD and hypertension. Certified training cervical screening is essential to the role. Independent prescribing is desirable but not essential.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skill are essential for the role along with the ability to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of record keeping, maintain confidential and have effective communication skills and to work collaboratively with our well established clinical team.

Ongoing training and development is encouraged and supported. The practice provides bi-monthly clinical supervision or education sessions for the nursing team.

The position permanent and is part-time over Thursday and Friday with the possibility of more hours. Salary dependant on qualifications and experience and the post holder is eligible to join the SPPA pension scheme.
