Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a qualified Practice Nurse to work at a GP practice in Hoddesdon. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, immunisations, and clinic duties in a structured primary care setting.

You will provide clinical reviews, treatment room procedures, wound care, NHS health checks and cytology where trained, with regular or ad-hoc sessions and long-term bookings.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
