Job summary

Locum Ready is recruiting a Locum Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Hertford. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations and routine clinic activities within a supportive primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, treatment room work and confidential documentation in the EMIS/SystmOne system. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with long-term bookings are offered.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation training desirable.
• Cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS in place or ongoing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children's immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-ups.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
