Job summary

Locum Ready in Folkestone is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to support a GP practice. The role covers chronic disease reviews, wound care, treatment room duties and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care setting.

Immunisations (if trained) and cytology testing may be included. You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work, recalls and timely follow-ups, in an environment with well-organised workflows and supportive nursing

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system

Requirements
