Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Gravesend. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine clinics in a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity, with well-organised workflows and supportive nursing leadership.

Regular or ad-hoc sessions, morning and afternoon availability, long-term bookings offered.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and patient communication.
• Enhanced DBS check where required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.

Key Responsibilities
