Locum Ready invites a proactive Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Ascot on a locum basis. The role focuses on routine nursing in a structured primary care setting, with emphasis on clinical reviews and treatment room procedures.

Responsibilities include chronic disease management, wound care and immunisations where trained. The successful candidate will work with EMIS/SystmOne/Vision and hold an enhanced DBS, delivering care in a busy clinic schedule.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation training desirable.
• Enhanced DBS completed.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room routines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews (asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension).
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Deliver adult and child immunisations if trained.
• Carry out smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Document clearly in the clinical system and manage recalls.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Ascot. This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system

Requirements

• NMC-registered Nurse with experience in primary care
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable
