Job description

Are you an experienced manager with a strong track record of supporting, developing and leading teams?

Three Harbours Medical Practice is looking for a confident, organised and people-focused Practice Manager to support the next stage of development for our administrative team and wider practice services.

Based in beautiful Caithness, Three Harbours serves approximately 13,500 patients across 3 practice sites. Recent changes in personnel and management provide an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to make a positive and lasting contribution to staff, patients and the local communities we serve.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys bringing structure, stability and encouragement to a busy team. You will support day-to-day practice operations, help develop clear ways of working, contribute to service improvement, and play an important part in ensuring patients receive a safe, responsive and high-quality service.

Experience in a medical practice or primary care setting would be helpful, but it is not essential. We are particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate effective staff management, compassionate leadership, experience of supporting learning and development, undertaking appraisals and personal development plans, maintaining good governance, working within budgets, and keeping health and safety at the forefront of service delivery.

For the right candidate, transferable management experience is more important than previous primary care experience. Training and support will be provided, including familiarisation with relevant NHS systems, practice processes and local arrangements.

This is a permanent, part-time Band 5 post, working 18 hours per week. Salary will be paid pro rata. Travel between practice bases is required; travel time is recognised and travel expenses are reimbursed in line with NHS Highland arrangements. This post is based across all three 3 Harbours practices.

The post also attracts NHS terms and conditions, including statutory annual leave entitlement based on service, plus eight public holidays per year pro rata.

If you are an experienced manager who is motivated by supporting people, improving services and making a real difference in a rural healthcare setting, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Please note this post is not eligible for Visa sponsorship and a CoS cannot be provided.
