Chase and Holland Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Practice Manager in Scunthorpe, offering up to £50,000. This role suits an experienced Accounts Senior or Accounts Manager looking to take on broader leadership responsibilities within an established independent practice.

You will manage SME client relationships, oversee accounts and tax work, mentor colleagues and support the Director to drive growth while embracing cloud accounting and digital tax initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Identifying tax efficiencies and advising clients on their business and company structures.
• Supporting, mentoring and developing team members through training, work reviews and feedback.
• Taking responsibility for the team when required, including during the Director's absence.
• Advising clients on cloud accounting and supporting the transition towards Making Tax Digital.
• Keeping up to date with accounting standards, tax legislation and regulatory changes.
• Supporting the Director with day-to-day management, growth and development of the practice.

The Role

As Practice Manager, you will play an important part in the day-to-day running and continued development of the practice. You will manage client relationships, oversee accounts and tax work, support the development of the team and act as a key point of contact for business owners.

Responsibilities include:

About You

You will be an experienced accountancy practice professional who combines strong technical knowledge with a genuine commitment to client service. You will enjoy working with business owners, take pride in the quality of your work and be confident supporting colleagues to develop their skills. To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Currently working as an Accounts Senior or Practice Manager within an accountancy practice and be ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role
• AAT qualification as a minimum
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts preparation, management accounts, personal and business taxation
• Experience managing client relationships and handling a varied portfolio of SME businesses
• The confidence to review work, support colleagues and take responsibility for the wider team
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial and tax matters clearly
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, professional and supportive approach, with a genuine desire to contribute to the success of the practice.
