Are you an experienced, people-focused manager ready to take the next step in your career? Dr Stocks & Partnersis looking for a confident and capable Practice Manager to lead our well-established, patient-centred GP surgery in Bexhill-on-Sea.
We welcome applicants from both general practice and othersectors, particularly those with a strong track record in leading teams, managing operations, and driving service improvement.
As Practice Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of the practice, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operations across our two sites. You will lead and support our team, work closely with the GP partners and clinical staff, and take responsibility for key areas including:
Day-to-day operations and service delivery
HR and staff management
CQC and regulatory compliance
Complaints and patient experience
IT systems and practice infrastructure
Collaboration with PCN and local health partners
We are a friendly, stable practice of 9 GP Partners and 2 salaried GPs, with a growing list size of around 18,800 patients. We areproud of our supportive team, are patient-focused, and well-regarded within ourlocal community.
We are split across two sitespresently, but with planning approved for a new purpose-built site.
Operational Management
Oversee the day-to-day running of both practice sites.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient services in line with NHS standards.
Maintain and improve administrative systems and processes.
Develop and implement policies and procedures across both sites.
People and HR Management
Oversee line management of all staff across both sites.
Oversee recruitment, induction, training, appraisals, and performance management.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Manage rotas, leave, and staff cover to ensure continuity of service.
Compliance and Governance
Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and lead on CQC inspections.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NHS contractual requirements.
Ensure the practice meets data protection, health and safety, and safeguarding obligations.
Oversee complaints management, risk assessments, and significant event reviews.
IT and Infrastructure
Oversee clinical and non-clinical systems (e.g. EMIS, Docman, AccuRx, eConsult).
Ensure both sites are secure, clean, and well-maintained.
Lead on digital transformation projects and system upgrades.
Strategic Development
Work with GP partners to develop and implement the practices vision and strategic objectives.
Identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation.
Prepare and submit bids for new funding streams.
External Relations
Represent the practice within the Primary Care Network (PCN) and local NHS forums.
Develop and maintain relationships with the ICB, public health teams, and other healthcare providers.
Promote patient engagement through the Patient Participation Group (PPG) and feedback mechanisms.
