This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse or allied health professional to join the Skills for Practice team here at UHS.
Skills for Practice are a small but dynamic team, working in many different areas from career support, widening participation and clinical skills and simulation. We work closely with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton to provide training in clinical skills to undergraduate medical students across all years of training. This is a vital part of the curriculum. We support practical assessment activities that the students undertake in years 2, 3 and final year. We provide clinical skills training to trust healthcare professionals who require enhanced skills training.
The post holder will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating clinical skills teaching to undergraduate medical students and trust staff. Whilst the main focus of the post is classroom-based teaching there will be times when you will need to work with learners on the ward or in the clinical areas.
The post is initially offered as a progressive Band 5 to 6 post. The successful candidate will begin as a band 5 with clear objectives set for the first 12 months before progression to a band 6 post. This will include undertaking a Level 5 Apprenticeship in Teaching and Learning.

However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
