The School of Medicine at the University of St Andrews invites applications for a Teaching Technician to support preparation, setup and running of science practical classes for undergraduate medical students. The role is hands-on, with a learn-as-you-go approach and a potential progression from Grade 2 to Grade 3 after a structured training programme.

It includes occasional assistance with other teaching sessions and assessment activities and holiday cover for the Research Laboratory

Qualifications

• Hands-on, practical mindset with interest in science
• Good manual dexterity and safe handling of equipment

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Teaching Technician to prepare, set up and run science practical classes for undergraduate medical students
• Support other practical teaching sessions and assessment activities to improve business resilience within the technician team
• Provide holiday cover for the Research Laboratory glasswasher
