Job summary

Exeter College is seeking a Practical Facilitator Maintenance. You will support students in practical maintenance sessions, prepare spaces, order tools and materials, and guide learners with your industry knowledge. No formal teaching qualifications required, but industry experience in construction trades is essential.

The role is 37 hours per week, permanent, based at Exeter. You’ll join a brick and maintenance team with opportunities for progression and training leading toward teaching

Qualifications

  • Industry experience in construction trades such as labouring, bricklaying, maintenance or carpentry.
  • Must be patient, organised and reliable.
  • Able to explain techniques clearly to learners.

We're looking for someone patient and super-organised to work in our brick and maintenance team. You don't need any teaching experience / qualifications for this role, but you'll need some industry experience, whether that's labouring, bricklaying, working in maintenance, carpentry or anything in between. Your role is to support students, prepare workspaces and facilitate practical activities.

You’ll need to be…
  • organised and reliable
  • supportive, patient and approachable
  • confident with industry-specific tools and machinery, with a great knack for explaining things simply and clearly
  • flexible and happy muck to in and do what's needed
  • knowledgeable about / experienced in a construction trade
What you'll be doing…
