Job summary

Canopy by Hilton London City is seeking an experienced PPM Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on planned preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring high hotel standards and safety compliance.

You will work under the Chief Engineer, performing HVAC, lighting, and basic repairs while adhering to health & safety guidelines. Flexibility for weekends/bank holidays is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in a similar hotel PPM role.
• Qualifications in plumbing, electrical or mechanical trades desirable.
• Good knowledge of H&S and COSHH regulations.
• Right to work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in guest areas and back-of-house.
• Maintain lighting systems, replace lamps and fittings.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC systems and components.
• Complete minor repairs to guest rooms and hotel areas.
• Ensure work meets health and safety standards.
• Test and troubleshoot hotel equipment, including plumbing and electrical.
• Identify defects during PPM and report to Engineering management.
• Follow O&M manuals and risk assessments.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced PPM Engineer to join the team at Canopy by Hilton London City.

The position of PPM Engineer has become available at Canopy London City, reporting into the Chief Engineer the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the décor of our guest bedrooms, public areas, and food and beverage outlets.

About The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in guest bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house areas in accordance with the Hotel's PPM programme and required schedules.
• Maintain and inspect lighting systems, including fault finding and replacement of lamps, fittings and other lighting components where appropriately trained and authorised.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, including basic fault finding and maintenance of accessible equipment and associated components.
• Complete minor repairs and remedial works, including silicone replacement and resealing, to maintain the condition and presentation of guest bedrooms and hotel areas.
• Ensure all work is carried out to the highest professional standards, adhering to Health and Safety legislation, policies and best practice guidelines.
• Test, troubleshoot and undertake basic repairs to hotel equipment and systems, including plumbing, electrical components, guestroom equipment and other hotel assets.
• Identify defects and potential maintenance issues during PPM activities and report them to the Engineering management team, including any follow-up actions required.
• Follow Hotel O&M manuals, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, manufacturer's instructions and Health & Safety procedures, ensuring the correct products, materials and finishes are used.

• An experienced PPM Engineer with a broad range of maintenance skills, with a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance and maintaining hotel standards.
• You will be comfortable working alongside our guests, management team, contractors, suppliers and all team members.
• Good Understanding of H&S and COSHH regulations
• A Hotel PPM Engineer with 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the hospitality sector, is desirableQualifications in one or more trades including plumbing, electric and mechanical, is desirable
• You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role, documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or bank holidays.
