Job summary

Canopy by Hilton London City is seeking an experienced PPM Engineer to join our engineering team. You will maintain guest bedrooms, public areas and F&B outlets, delivering planned maintenance in line with the hotel's programme and safety standards.

You should have a background in hotel maintenance, with at least 2 years in a similar role. COSHH and H&S awareness are essential, and rights to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in planned preventative maintenance within a hotel or hospitality setting.
• 2 years’ experience in a similar hotel maintenance role is desirable.
• Qualifications in plumbing/electrical/mechanical trades are desirable.
• Right to work in the UK will be required for eligibility.
• Knowledge of COSHH and health & safety regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in guest bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house areas in accordance with the hotel's PPM programme and required schedules.
• Maintain and inspect lighting systems, including fault finding and replacement of lamps, fittings and other lighting components where trained.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, including basic fault finding and maintenance of accessible equipment and associated components.
• Complete minor repairs and remedial works, including silicone replacement and resealing, to maintain the condition and presentation of guest bedrooms and hotel areas.
• Ensure all work adheres to the highest professional standards, following Health & Safety legislation, policies and best practice guidelines.
• Test, troubleshoot and undertake basic repairs to hotel equipment and systems, including plumbing, electrical components and guestroom assets.
• Identify defects and potential maintenance issues during PPM activities and report them to Engineering management with follow-up actions.
• Follow Hotel O&M manuals, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and manufacturer instructions, using correct products and finishes.

The position of PPM Engineer has become available at Canopy London City, reporting into the Chief Engineer the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the décor of our guest bedrooms, public areas, and food and beverage outlets.

About The Role

• Identify defects and potential maintenance issues during PPM activities and report them to the Engineering management team, including any follow‑up actions required.
• Follow Hotel O&M manuals, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, manufacturer's instructions and Health & Safety procedures, ensuring the correct products, materials and finishes are used.

• An experienced PPM Engineer with a broad range of maintenance skills, with a strong focus on planned preventative maintenance and maintaining hotel standards.
• You will be comfortable working alongside our guests, management team, contractors, suppliers and all team members.
• Good Understanding of H&S and COSHH regulations
• A Hotel PPM Engineer with 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the hospitality sector, is desirableQualifications in one or more trades including plumbing, electric and mechanical, is desirable
• You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role, documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or bank holidays.
