Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Proving Test Technician to join a global engineering team in Peterborough. This 12‑month contract role is fully onsite and focuses on powertrain installation, integration, shakedown, and testing of off‑highway machines and heavy vehicles.

You will work across IC, electric, and EV platforms, using diagnostic tools and engineering drawings. The role requires a minimum of four years in a workshop or testing environment and hands‑on experience with engines, automotive

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on workshop, testing, or maintenance experience with engines or heavy machinery.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and fabricate parts as needed.
• Experience with powertrains, IC engines, or electric/EV systems is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Install prototype and production powertrains into off-highway machinery.
• Instrument powertrains with sensors and data collection tools.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Operate test facilities safely following 5S and health and safety rules.
