Job summary

Speedy Hire PLC is hiring a Depot Based Powered Access Engineer in Tamworth. The role focuses on servicing, maintaining, repairing and refurbishing powered access equipment to keep the fleet safe and ready for hire. You will diagnose faults, read electrical and hydraulic drawings, and work with major brands to ensure high availability.

Qualifications

• Experience within powered access, plant hire, construction equipment or similar mechanical environment.
• Experience servicing and repairing powered access equipment such as scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic drawings.
• Experience identifying faults, estimating repairs and completing maintenance to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and refurbishment of powered access equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Work on equipment from leading manufacturers including Niftylift, Skyjack, Genie and JLG.
• Conduct inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment is compliant and ready for hire.
• Identify required repairs and provide accurate assessments of work needed.
• Read electrical and hydraulic drawings to support fault finding.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of fleet availability and customer service.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
