Job summary

Speedy Powered Access in Tamworth is seeking a Depot Based Powered Access Engineer to keep our fleet safe, reliable and ready for hire. You will service, repair and refurbish equipment, diagnose faults and read hydraulic/electrical drawings.

You will join an experienced team, prioritise safety, and contribute to high fleet availability. CAP registration is beneficial, and the role offers a competitive salary and a strong development path.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering experience within powered access, plant hire, construction equipment or a similar mechanical engineering environment.
• Experience servicing and repairing powered access equipment such as scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic drawings.
• Experience identifying faults, estimating repairs and completing maintenance work to a high standard.
• Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• CAP registration would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs and refurbishment of powered access equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Working on equipment from leading manufacturers including Niftylift, Skyjack, Genie and JLG.
• Conducting inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment is compliant and ready for hire.
• Identifying required repairs and providing accurate assessments of work needed.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic drawings to support fault finding.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of fleet availability and customer service.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
