A leading global utilities company is offering an opportunity for a highly skilled Power Trading Business Analyst with expertise in short-term power trading to join their team.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing front-office trading operations, working at the intersection of technology, data, and commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT, translating trading requirements into clear, actionable deliverables.
• Analyse and improve existing trading processes, systems, and tools to support short-term power market activities.
• Collaborate with traders, analysts, and risk teams to understand business needs and deliver robust, scalable solutions.
• Support the development and implementation of new trading strategies and products across day-ahead, intra-day, and balancing markets.
• Contribute to system testing, user training, and documentation as part of change management initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within a short-term power trading environment – physical and financial.
• Strong knowledge of European power markets (UK and/or continental), including market mechanisms, trading systems, and operational workflows.
• Familiarity with energy trading and risk management systems (ETRMs), ideally Endur or similar platforms.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse technical and business teams.
• Competence in data analysis (SQL, Python, Excel) is highly advantageous.

This is a hybrid opportunity requiring onsite presence 2-3 days a week within the Midlands, with a salary up to £90k, flexible for the right candidate.
