Job summary

RINA is seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Power Systems Consulting team in the UK, delivering complex Substation Design and Power Systems Studies for major utilities. The role supports growth across UK and international projects and offers hybrid working from multiple offices, including Manchester, Leatherhead, Chippenham, or Lincoln.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with an Electrical Engineering background.
• 10+ years in Power Systems engineering, with 3+ years UK project experience.
• 5+ years in management leading 5–20 engineers.
• Strong English communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with Substation design (11–400 kV), grid integration, P&C and studies.
• Familiar with PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP and PSSE.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Power Systems Engineering team (circa 10 engineers).
• Set technical objectives and mentor staff.
• Manage resources, execution plans and project schedules.
• Report team financial performance to RINA SMT.
• Be Technical Lead for Substation Design from 11 kV to 400 kV.
• Review subcontractor designs and FAT plans.
• Contribute to tenders and RFQs with Proposals team.
