Job summary

EDF Trading is seeking a Power Scheduler to act as the interface between short-term power traders and Grid Operators. The role will ensure physical positions align with trader strategy across European markets and support scheduling accuracy across desks.

Ideal candidates will have a graduate analytical background, strong quantitative skills, and English fluency with a preference for another European language. Hybrid working and a diverse, international team are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate qualification in an analytical discipline (finance/science/engineering/maths).
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Fluency in English and at least one other European language preferred (French or German).

Responsibilities

• Manage short term physical electricity position in European markets.
• Submit bids/requests for export/import transmission rights.
• Nominate positions with trading counterparts and border flows.
• Ensure scheduling systems reflect trading desk activity accurately.
• Understand Grid Operator nomination formats and deadlines.
• React quickly to Grid Operator information to minimise imbalances.
• Train new schedulers when necessary.
• This list may include other tasks assigned by the manager.
