Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a Section Engineer for a Power Project in the North East on a contract basis (Inside IR35). The role focuses on setting out, QA documentation, and site coordination for major industrial works including nuclear, power plants or energy facilities.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree or diploma and a relevant safety certification, with BIM experience and experience with Tier 1 UK contractors.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering (BSc/HND/HNC) and working towards professional membership is a plus.
• Valid CSCS card and SMSTS or SSSTS certification are required.
• Proficient in BIM systems on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the setting out and as-built records.
• Support the Site engineering team in all duties.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and workforce on site.
• Deliver clear and timely updates on project progress and performance.
• Prepare and manage QA documentation including ITPs, inspections, NCRs, and TQs.
• Maintain site diaries and project records.
• Assist with weekly planning and performance tracking (KPIs).
• Contribute to safety documentation including RAMS, temporary works briefs, permits, and incident reports.
• Oversee weekly commercial reporting including waste management.
• Reconcile labour and plant usage.

Education

Civil Engineering degree/diploma (BSc/HND/HNC)

MICE or IStructE membership (preferred)
