Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking a data modeller and dashboard specialist to support the Project Controls function in the UK. You will collaborate with senior team members to build structured data models, develop Power BI dashboards, and deliver performance insights to drive informed decision-making on large construction projects.

You will gain deeper exposure to Power Query, DAX, Excel automation, and the Microsoft Power Platform within a fast-paced project environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience transforming and organising data sets using Power Query or similar tools.
• Experience in developing structured data models incorporating fact and dimension tables, with the ability to define and manage relationships within PowerBI.
• Competency in data manipulation and analysis, preferably with exposure to DAX for calculations and insights.
• Experience in creating or supporting the development of PowerBI dashboards, with an understanding of how to translate data into meaningful visual insights.
• Strong skills in Advanced Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, visualisation techniques, and automation to support robust reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI) to support workflow creation, data capture, and visualisation.
• Experience working within a Project Controls environment on large or complex construction or infrastructure programmes.
• Understanding of schedule, cost, and risk management principles.
• Previous involvement in a Project Controls team within a major project setting.
• Awareness of the transport, energy, infrastructure, or construction sectors, including familiarity with NEC contract environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain structured data models underpinning interactive dashboard visualisations.
• Support the delivery of dashboards highlighting performance trends and actionable insights.
• Contribute to root cause analysis by preparing, organising, and validating data used in reporting outputs.
• Develop understanding of project controls processes and document business processes with digitalisation in mind.
• Work with senior team members to ensure reporting inputs adhere to agreed processes and quality standards.
• Assist in preparing periodic and ad‑hoc reports and ensure timely submission.
• Contribute to monthly project review packs and ensure information flows to senior stakeholders.
• Collate KPIs and progress data related to time, cost, risk, change, and quality.
• Support development and integration of performance measurement systems, such as Earned Value Management.
