Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Power BI and data analytics specialist to visualise operational performance and risk in the Water Supply sector. The role focuses on creating user-centric reports, driving continuous improvement, and championing GDPR and cyber security within the analytics community.

Qualifications

• Level 3 equivalent in Data Science or Data Analytics.
• Strong operational knowledge of abstraction, treatment, transmission and storage of potable water.
• Experienced user of Power BI and data visualisation development.
• Appropriate professional qualification (e.g. CIWEM) advantageous.
• Experience in assessing risk and responding appropriately.
• Excellent IT skills including SAP, IRIS, Oracle.
• Good communication skills and ability to effectively deal with a range of stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to operational demands.
• Proven leadership and team enablement skills.
• Highly developed analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Visualise operational performance and risk using Power BI and other visualisation tools.
• Develop reports with user experience in mind and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Champion Cyber Security and GDPR compliance within Water Supply and the analyst community.
• Act as Power BI and visualisation expert for Water Supply, ensuring reporting adheres to standards.
• Support automated reporting and visualise risks across team boundaries.
• Provide feedback to stakeholders to drive action plans and improvements.
• Ensure reporting drives outcomes and deliverables.
• Escalate identified operational and business risks appropriately.
• Establish data ownership and verify business acceptance of data sources.
• Develop performance measures to support maintenance reporting.
• Support teams with visual reporting to track mitigation efforts and emerging threats.
• Analyse datasets to identify patterns, trends and risks.
• Engage with operational colleagues and subject matter experts to support performance analytics.
