Job summary

Searchability is seeking a Power BI Administrator to own administration, governance, security and performance of the Power BI environment. The role is 100% office-based in the UK, with sites in Inverness or Manchester, and requires BPSS clearance.

POWER BI ADMINISTRATOR

• £760 per day via Umbrella
• Contract until August 2027
• 100% office-based – Manchester or Inverness

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a leading organisation operating within a complex enterprise technology environment, supporting critical business services and data platforms. They are looking for an experienced Power BI Administrator to take ownership of the administration, governance, security and ongoing performance of their Power BI environment.

THE POWER BI ADMINISTRATOR ROLE:

As a Power BI Administrator, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining the Power BI platform across Power BI Service, Workspaces, Apps and Dataflows, ensuring the environment remains secure, compliant and performant.

You will manage tenant settings, user access, workspace permissions and security controls, while enforcing governance standards, compliance requirements and reporting certification processes.

You will monitor platform health, capacity utilisation, refresh schedules, usage metrics and audit logs, as well as managing gateways and data source connectivity. You will troubleshoot performance and refresh issues, maintain platform documentation and work closely with business and technical stakeholders to promote adoption and best practice.

This role operates within a 07:00–19:00 UK service window, with participation in a rotational on-call support schedule.

POWER BI ADMINISTRATOR ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong Power BI Service administration and governance experience
• Experience administering Power BI across Cloud and Reporting Server environments
• Power BI Workspaces, Apps, Dataflows, tenant settings and permissions
• Experience managing gateways and data source connectivity
• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), access management and security configuration
• Knowledge of enterprise governance, compliance and audit requirements
• Experience monitoring Power BI capacity, platform health, refreshes and usage
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
