Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking an experienced Powder Coating Manager near Ashford to lead a team of around 12 and drive efficiency in a busy spray plant.

You'll own daily operations, ensure targets, quality and safety compliance, and implement improvements to boost productivity. The role offers a temporary to permanent contract with a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per year and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in management or supervision within manufacturing or industry.
• Powder coating, spray plant or finishing experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and stock control.
• Experience managing waste disposal and regulatory compliance.
• Strong quality control and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to lead people, performance, and priorities.
• Highly organized with decisive leadership.
• Ability to work independently and own a department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the powder coating plant.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety compliance.
• Manage orders for chemicals, materials and consumables.
• Monitor waste management and hazardous waste disposal.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Manage staff schedules, performance and disciplinary matters.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and quality.
• Take ownership of departmental performance with minimal senior oversight.
