Morgan Jones Recruitment is assisting a manufacturing client on the outskirts of Ashford seeking an experienced Powder Coating Manager. You will lead a team of about 12, oversee the powder coating plant, ensure targets, quality and safety, and drive departmental performance with minimal senior oversight.

This hands-on leadership role offers £40,000–£45,000 per year with a temp-to-perm pathway and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience within manufacturing or industry.
• Powder coating, spray plant, or finishing experience would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and stock control processes.
• Experience managing waste disposal and regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of quality control and continuous improvement.
• Confident managing people, performance, and operational priorities.
• Highly organised with strong leadership and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of a department.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the powder coating plant, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
• Manage, motivate, and develop a team of approximately 12 employees.
• Oversee all powder coating plant operations and ensure production efficiency and high-quality output.
• Manage ordering of chemicals, materials, and consumables; monitor waste management processes including hazardous waste disposal.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Manage staff schedules, performance, and disciplinary matters; drive process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
• Take ownership of departmental performance with minimal senior management oversight.
