Job summary

Agricultural and Farming Jobs is seeking an Assistant Poultry Farm Manager in South Gloucestershire. The role supports day-to-day management of a commercial broiler farm, ensuring welfare, biosecurity and performance standards are met.

Working with the Farm Manager and team, you will take hands-on responsibility for housing, health, vaccination and welfare, with accommodation available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Commercial broiler poultry experience.
• Strong understanding of bird welfare and poultry management.
• Experience in a poultry farming environment.
• Good communication with farm staff and contractors.
• Self-motivated and keen to take responsibility.
• Organised and detail-oriented.
• UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day running and management of the poultry farm.
• Set up poultry houses for chicks and daily checks on housing and birds.
• Manage ventilation, feeding and vaccination to ensure welfare.
• Monitor bird welfare, health and farm performance.
• Maintain high biosecurity standards across the farm.
• Complete daily checklists, records and quality control paperwork.
• Oversee litter management and feed requirements.
• Collaborate with veterinary professionals to improve welfare and performance.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and farm assurance standards.
• Maintain safe working practices for employees and contractors.
• Liaise with customers and external contractors as needed.
• Provide relief to other farms when required.
• Complete Poultry Passport training for staff obligations.
