Menter a Busnes is seeking an Assistant Poultry Farm Manager in South Gloucestershire to support daily management of a commercial broiler farm. The role emphasizes bird welfare, biosecurity, and farm performance, with hands-on responsibilities and opportunities for career progression.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Farm Manager and team to ensure high welfare standards, efficient operations, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial broiler poultry experience
• Excellent understanding of bird welfare and poultry management
• Practical experience in a poultry farming environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with staff and contractors
• Self-motivated and keen to take responsibility
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day running and management of the poultry farm
• Set up poultry houses for chicks and carry out daily checks
• Manage bird husbandry including ventilation, feeding and vaccination
• Monitor bird welfare, health and farm performance
• Maintain biosecurity across the farm
• Complete daily checklists, records and quality control paperwork
• Liaise with customers and external contractors as required
• Provide relief support to other farms when needed
• Ensure compliance with legislation and farm assurance standards
• Maintain safe working practices for all staff and visitors
