Job summary

Chesterfield Poultry is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to support the Farm Manager in a Chorley-based broiler operation. You will supervise staff, monitor flock performance, ensure welfare, and uphold biosecurity and regulatory standards.

The role includes managing day-to-day operations, maintaining records, and assisting with production metrics. Flexible hours, including weekends, may be required in a busy farming environment.

Qualifications

• Poultry Passport completed or in progress.
• Proven experience in broiler production or poultry farm management
• Strong understanding of broiler nutrition, health, and welfare
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
• Basic computer skills for record keeping and reporting
• Physically able to work in a farm environment

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day broiler farm operations.
• Ensure proper feeding, water, ventilation, and lighting systems are functioning correctly.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, air quality).
• Supervise farm workers and attendants.
• Track feed consumption, water intake, weight gain, FCR, and mortality rates.
• Maintain production records and daily reports.
• Assist in preparing performance reports for management.
