Job summary

Garstang, Lancashire-based broiler poultry business is seeking a motivated Poultry Assistant Manager to join our team. Salary £40,000 per year negotiable depending on experience, with a house available 0.4 miles from the farm.

Working closely with the Poultry Farm Manager, you will help manage day-to-day operations, maintain bird welfare, biosecurity and flock performance, and supervise staff. Applicants should have practical poultry experience; a Poultry Passport is beneficial, and we offer

Qualifications

• Previous practical experience with poultry.
• Understanding of poultry health, welfare and biosecurity.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor bird health, welfare and behaviour.
• Manage feeding, watering, lighting and ventilation systems.
• Record feed and water consumption, weight gain and flock performance.
• Maintain production and compliance records.
• Supervise poultry farm staff and organize daily tasks.
• Ensure biosecurity, hygiene and environmental standards.
