Northumberland County Council is seeking a Specialist Heavy Plant Operator (Pothole Pro) to join our highways maintenance team. You will operate specialist pothole repair plant across Northumberland and assist with highway maintenance and construction works.

Applicants should hold Level 2 City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Roadworks (or equivalent) with experience operating heavy plant and excavators, and a valid UK driving licence; standby and emergency response flexibility required.

Competenze

• Level 2 City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Roadworks (or equivalent) is required.
• Experience operating heavy plant and excavators (e.g., JCB 4CX or similar).
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across Northumberland with standby/emergency flexibility.

Mansioni

• Operate specialist pothole repair and highway maintenance plant across Northumberland.
• Carry out highway maintenance and construction activities, including excavation and repair works.
• Inspect, maintain and service plant and equipment per manufacturer guidance.
• Complete associated paperwork, plant inspections, vehicle checks and work records.
• Work safely in line with Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and Chapter 8 requirements.
• Support winter maintenance, emergency call-outs and other highway operational activities when required.
