The Department of Political Science wishes to appoint a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in British Politics for the 2025-26 academic year.

About The Role

The purpose of this job is to support teaching and learning in our undergraduate British Politics module, working with the academic module lead through the delivery of small group teaching for students taking the module.

Main duties of the post include being the seminar leader for seminar/s each week. Expect to generate weekly seminar plans, facilitate discussion, and answer questions on material presented in lectures or contained in set readings.

Key responsibilities

• Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
• Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
• Marking students' work;
• Dissertation co-supervision at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level(s);
• Giving feedback to students

The applicant must be a current PhD student in a relevant discipline.
