Job summary

UKRI - MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) in Cambridge is recruiting postdoctoral scientists for a three-year training and development program. You will join the group led by Dr Michel Goedert to study molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration using cryo-EM and other state-of-the-art methods.

Applicants should have or be nearing a PhD, with strong experimental and collaborative skills. The role involves developing methods, publishing work, and contributing to a dynamic research

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant subject or due to complete a PhD within 6 months.
• Experience in generating experimental models of amyloid formation and/or cryo-EM/cryo-ET.
• Experience in standard molecular biology techniques of cloning and cell culture or protein purification.
• Mass spectrometry experience is advantageous.
• Track record of published papers and independent working.

Responsibilities

• Plan your work and objectives on a 12-month basis.
• Work with limited supervision to develop and apply techniques.
• Introduce and apply new techniques across disciplines.
• Ensure research complies with local policies and safety rules.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to publications and seminars.
