Job summary

University of Oxford’s Radcliffe Department of Medicine seeks a Postdoctoral Scientist to work in the Drakesmith lab in collaboration with the Simmons lab and Earth Sciences. The project aims to reveal how iron is trafficked and its influence on immunopathological conditions, iron deficiency and anaemia globally.

You hold a PhD/DPhil with experience in cell culture and molecular biology and possess specialist knowledge to work within established research programmes.

Qualifications

• PhD/DPhil in a relevant field is required.
• Relevant experience in cell culture and molecular biology is essential.
• Sufficient specialist knowledge to operate within established research programmes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanistic studies on how iron is trafficked and its role in immunopathological conditions.
• Collaborate with the Simmons lab and Earth Sciences colleagues.
• Contribute to addressing global health issues of iron deficiency and anaemia.
